Dual Laminate Construction 

Edlon offers dual laminate construction for every material in which we offer bonded liners:

  • PVDF
  • ETFE
  • ECTFE
  • FEP
  • PTFE
  • PFA

These fluoropolymer films have a polyester or glass-knit backing laminated directly onto the film, which is then overlaid with fiberglass (FRP).  All FRP vessels are built in compliance with ASME and RTP-1 standards.  We can also offer heat-tracing and insulation.  Dual laminate vessels will usually offer a cost savings over bonded liner steel tanks.

Dual laminate vessels with bonded fluoropolymer liners are an excellent option when your process will see agitation or vacuum.  Edlon uses two different bonding systems when constructing dual laminate vessels:

  • Standard elastomeric adhesive.  This system is not recommended for use under continuous vacuum conditions, but will perform well under vacuum upsets and agitated conditions.
  • Epoxy.  Slightly more expensive than our standard adhesive, but will withstand more severe vacuum and agitated conditions.
